Browser lock scams are sites who often open as a popup and tell you : " Your browser has been locked" as you are accused of violation/ distribution of content or whatever the scammer says ( they know hot to make it look really legit), using fake credentials as they were a government agency like FBI for example.
They will then ask you to pay an amount of money in order to unlock your browser. They usually look like in the pic and can trace your IP or translate the content in you language ( so don't be fooled by this fake credentials)

NOTE: NO GOVERNMENT AGENCY WILL EVER ASK YOU FOR MONEY IN ORDER UNLOCK YOUR BROWSER OR PC OR WHATEVER, NOR WILL THEY ASK OR SAVE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
HOW TO GET OUT OF THIS BROWSER LOCK:
IF IT CAN'T BE CLOSED SIMPLY BY CLOSE IN YOUR BROWSER THEN :
-OPEN TASK MANAGER ( ctrl+alt+del) AND UNDER PROCESSES SEARCH FOR YOU BROWSER ( ex. CHROME , FIREFOX, IE ) AND CLICK ON END TASK. NOTICE WHEN YOU WILL OPEN AGAIN YOUR BROWSER START A NEW SEASON AND DO NOT OPEN THE PREVIOUS ONE AS IT WILL GET YOU TO THE SAME SITE AGAIN .
-IF YOU REALLY WANT TO DELETE ANY TRACE OF THE SCAM, CLEAN YOUR BROWSER HISTORY AND COOKIE ( from the settings of your browser or using a program like ccleaner)
MORE INFORMATION ABOUT BROWSER LOCK AND SCREEN LOCK VIRUS FROM A MEMBER OF THIS FORUM IN ANOTHER TOPIC :Some like adfe.es don't check and distribute the crap til someone don't advice them ... some others are true viruses, usually spreaded as infections of legit shareware and freeware progs, ofcourse without the complicity of the programs creators ... if it's a lock, it's easy to manage, but if it's a virus, it's much harder, and for some of the "new" versions (like "napolitano" virus in Italy, "FBI" virus in USA, and so on), it's almost impossible, cause they rewrite part of the kernel, using a bug of the "trusted user" permisisons, never corrected, so also disinfection is not enough, cause the kernel, first time you reconnect to internet, hiddenly connect to virus server and reinstall it immediately ... you mustreformat for delete it ... if you're "lucky", can save your data before format using a live cd like hirens, but if you meet the last version, the one that encrypt all the .doc, .jpg, .mp3, .zip/.rar and .dwg files, you lost all them ... better not have to do with them, i'm saying you this for personal experience ...
